Summary:
DwyerOmega is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support product development, testing, validation, and manufacturing operations at its Michigan City, Indiana headquarters. This role serves as a technical resource for Engineering and Manufacturing teams by conducting electrical testing, troubleshooting products and systems, supporting new product development activities, and maintaining test equipment and automated test systems.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with electrical and electronic systems, instrumentation, and product testing. This position plays a critical role in supporting product performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and engineering project execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform electrical, electronic, and electromechanical testing on development and production products.

Assist engineers with product development, validation, and qualification testing activities.

Build, assemble, modify, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic test setups, prototypes, and fixtures.

Operate test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.

Maintain test equipment and coordinate repair and preventative maintenance activities.

Collect, analyze, and document test data and prepare technical reports.

Support root cause investigations and troubleshooting of product failures and manufacturing issues.

Evaluate returned products and perform failure analysis on electrical and electronic components.

Create and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.

Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting electrical product and process issues.

Participate in new product introductions and engineering change implementation.

Assist in developing test fixtures and automated testing solutions.

Maintain and enhance data acquisition and automated testing systems.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost reduction, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.

Ability to travel up to 25%
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.

Two or more years of experience in electrical testing, electronics manufacturing, product validation, or engineering support preferred.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.

Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic circuits.

Familiarity with test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.

Knowledge of industrial controls, pneumatics, sensors, conveyors, machine safety and vision systems.

Experience with assembly automation, robotics, controls integration, machine design and manufacturing process optimization.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with ERP systems preferred.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills with ability to work effectively independently and within cross-functional teams.
