Job Summary
Due to continued growth, Smith Builders is looking for an experienced Roofing and Siding Crew Supervisor to lead our specialized residential and commercial exterior crews. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality installations of various roofing systems (metal and asphalt) and siding materials while managing a team of 4–6 installers to ensure safety, efficiency, and elite craftsmanship.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead & Supervise: Manage daily job site operations, including material staging, crew scheduling, and strict quality control.
- Expert Installation: Supervise and execute the installation of metal and asphalt roofing systems to include asphalt shingles, corrugated metal, standing seam, cedar shake and slate systems as well as diverse siding systems including vinyl, wood, cedar shake and board and batten.
- Custom Fabrication: Use a brake to bend custom flashings, valleys, drip edges, and window/door casings on-site.
- Safety First: Ensure all OSHA safety standards are met, including harness use, scaffolding setup, and ladder safety.
- Customer Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for homeowners on-site to explain progress and address concerns.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 5+ years of proven combined roofing and siding experience; 3+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
- Technical Skill: Proficient in exterior roofing and siding layouts, precise cutting, fastening, and advanced waterproofing techniques (including window/door flashing and moisture barriers); experience with snow guards, standard flashing profiles, and vertical siding alignment is required.
- Reliability: A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to our Glenburn shop, M-F starting daily at 6AM.
- Physical Ability: Comfortable working at heights, on various pitches, and in Maine’s seasonal weather conditions.
