Role Overview
Based in Euclid, Ohio, this full-time, onsite position involves the regular assessment, evaluation, and upkeep of life-safety and fire protection equipment. Please note that this role does not include work on portable extinguishers or sprinkler systems.

You will help maintain a secure environment for all building occupants by proactively identifying potential hazards and ensuring all systems meet mandatory safety regulations.

By performing detailed inspections and documenting your findings, you will support the implementation of necessary repairs to keep facilities fully protected.
Core Duties
Fire System Inspection & Testing

Execute scheduled assessments and operational checks for fire alarm control panels and associated hardware.

Verify the performance of all signaling devices, including horns, strobes, and speakers.

Test detection components such as duct detectors, smoke sensors, and manual pull stations.

Ensure all equipment functions according to local mandates and NFPA guidelines to guarantee system reliability.

Confirm that every device is correctly installed and operating without any mechanical defects.
Code Compliance

Maintain strict adherence to building codes and NFPA requirements, such as NFPA 72 and NFPA 101, to ensure total site safety.

Help minimize liability by documenting system deficiencies and reporting them to the relevant team members for immediate resolution.
Documentation & Reporting

Generate precise and thorough inspection documentation using our standard digital platforms.

Keep comprehensive logs regarding all testing methodologies, outcomes, and required maintenance.

Draft professional suggestions for system enhancements, necessary repairs, or equipment upgrades.
Hazard Identification

Help prevent emergencies by spotting and reporting risks like obstructed exit routes or malfunctioning alarm hardware.

Ensure that facility managers and property owners are kept informed of any critical safety issues.
Collaboration & Customer Interaction

Manage inspection timelines by coordinating effectively with contractors and facility personnel.

Educate clients on code requirements and inspection outcomes to ensure transparency and understanding.

Required Qualifications

Completion of a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for vocational or technical schooling.

Solid understanding of life-safety devices, fire alarm technology, and applicable NFPA codes.

Possession of a valid Fire Alarm License is mandatory.

Proficiency in analyzing building blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.

Strong organizational habits and a commitment to maintaining accurate, detailed records.

Physical capability to navigate various work environments, including the ability to climb ladders and reach equipment.
