Senior Accountant
About the Opportunity
We are a fast-growing, digitally native ecommerce brand in the premium lifestyle and apparel space, with a loyal following, strong multi-channel distribution, and annual revenues exceeding $40M. Our products are sold through our own direct-to-consumer channels, major online marketplaces, and select premium brick-and-mortar retail partners nationwide. Backed by private equity, we are in an exciting phase of scaling our operations, systems, and team to support continued growth. We operate with the culture of a tight-knit startup while carrying the momentum and resources of an established brand.
We are adding a Senior Accountant to our finance team - a role that sits at the intersection of technical accounting, cross-functional collaboration, and operational impact. This is an opportunity to join a company where your work is visible, your expertise is valued, and the environment rewards people who take ownership and bring ideas to the table.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Own and manage inventory accounting end-to-end, including cost tracking, periodic reconciliations, and valuation adjustments across multiple product categories
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement support schedules as part of the month-end close cycle (target close window of five to seven business days)
- Ensure accurate recognition of revenue, cost of goods sold, and operating expenses across direct-to-consumer, marketplace (including third-party platforms), and wholesale channels
- Partner with logistics, merchandising, and operations teams to reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure vendor payment accuracy
- Support year-end close activities, external audits, and tax filing preparation
- Assist with sales and use tax filings and other compliance obligations as they arise
- Identify and help implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to drive efficiency as the business scales
- Respond to ad hoc requests from other departments and provide financial analysis to support business decisions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; retail, e-commerce, or consumer brand accounting experience strongly preferred
- Solid command of inventory accounting, including standard costing methodologies, valuation, and reconciliation best practices
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms - NetSuite experience is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools; comfort working with large data sets
- Familiarity with multi-channel revenue recognition across DTC, marketplace, and wholesale channels is a significant plus
- Strong analytical instincts, attention to detail, and the ability to self-direct in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative communicator who can work cross-functionally and explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Why This Role Stands Out
- Join a PE-backed consumer brand on a strong growth trajectory with genuine upside for ambitious contributors
- Hybrid schedule out of the North Dallas area with flexibility built into the work model
- Competitive compensation package including base salary, performance bonus, health and dental benefits, paid time off, and 401(k) with matching
- Culture grounded in kindness, team collaboration, and a genuine commitment to people - not just performance
