Writing Coach (In-Person)
$36.66/hour Coaching | $15/hour Training
School Year Hours (summer hours shift)
- Sunday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Monday–Thursday: 3:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Candidates must commit to at least two of our open coaching days in person.
Additional coaching days are available for those seeking more hours.
The StudyPro, a state-of-the-art Executive Function and Study Skills Center in McLean, VA. We're looking for exceptional Writing Coaches—including MFA graduates, professors, PhD students, adjunct faculty, and other experienced writing educators—to help students (MS, HS, College) become more confident, independent writers by focusing on process, structure, and voice—not just content correction.
What You’ll Do:
As a StudyPro Writing Coach, you’ll help students:
- Build confidence and trust in their writing voice
- Learn a repeatable, strategy-based writing process
- Strengthen core writing process skills (understanding the writing process, "chunking" work to make it more manageable, following the rubric, etc. )
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience teaching or coaching writing (MS/HS/college level)
- A Master’s degree in a related field (MFA, MA in Education, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with learning differences and executive function challenges
- A thoughtful, strategy-based approach to writing instruction
- Ability to commit to at least two in-person days - more in-person and/or remote available.
- Warm, professional demeanor with students and families
