The Service Technicians are responsible for,
- Examining vehicles, compiling estimates of repair costs, and securing customers approval to perform repairs;
- Repairing, overhauling, and adjusting automobile brake systems;
- Using electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in the fuel, ignition, and emissions control systems;
- Repairing and replacing defective ball joint suspensions, brake shoes and wheel bearings;
- Inspecting and testing new vehicles for damage, then recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made;
- Aligning and repairing wheels, axels, frames, torsion bars, and steering mechanisms of automobiles, using special alignment equipment and wheel-balancing machines;
- Tuning automobile engines to ensure proper and efficient functioning. Repairing, installing, and adjusting hydraulic and electromagnetic automatic lift mechanisms used to raise and lower automobile windows, seats, and tops;
- Installing and repairing air conditioners, and service components such as compressors, condensers, and controls;
- Repairing and rebuilding of clutch systems. Removing and replacing automobile defective mufflers and tailpipes;
- Accurately diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles;
- Documenting notes and recommendations on the repair order;
- Inspecting vehicles and advising Service Consultant of any areas of concern so customers are informed;
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and done safely;
- Maintaining and exceeding minimum shop production standards;
- Attending all required factory training and obtaining all required certifications;
- Other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent; Mechanical Aptitude is required; Knowledge of different engines, components and systems; Experience in manual dexterity, able to operate, understand, and is comfortable with a wide variety of hand tools and equipment; Problem solving skills and customer service experience; Must have valid Driver’s license and an acceptable abstract; Possession of a valid and current Safety Inspector license desirable; ASE certification’s preferred.
