Family Restoration Services (FRS) provides an array of services to emotionally disabled youth and adults requiring supportive services to stabilize in their own homes. Family Restoration seeks to restore optimal health to the body, mind, and spirit. In this respect, our mission is to offer youth and families restorative counsel to repair dysfunctional homes, build healthy familial relationships, and to curb negative behaviors and attitudes through fitness and nutritional activities, therapeutic interventions and community partnering.
Family Restoration Services seeks goal-oriented, high energetic individuals to join our company as Mental Health Skill Building Specialist to provide, skill-building supportive services to a caseload of adult consumers in accordance with established individualized service plan. Qualified candidates should be able to provide services on a routine basis and respond to a crisis situation as necessary. This is a part‑time position requiring availability during both morning and afternoon hours.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The MHSS Specialist is a qualified mental health professional responsible for providing crisis stabilization, and mental health skill-building services. They work with clients in the community, ensuring their mental health needs are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Client Interaction:
- Conduct one-on-one mental health counseling sessions related to client goals.
- Provide skill-building support to adults with serious mental illness.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources and attending appointments.
● Documentation and Case Management:
- Develop individualized service plans.
- Maintain progress notes for each client session.
- Ensure basic client needs are met through case management.
- Collaborate with other team members and attend team meetings.
● Compliance and Confidentiality:
- Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Keep health-related information confidential.
- Follow agency policies and procedures
MHSS SPECIALIST QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education/experience: Bachelor’s degree in human services field, special education or related field from an accredited college. At least one year of clinical experience with adults who have serious mental illness.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
- Registered with the Board of Counseling as a QMHP-A and maintain registration
- Current certifications in crisis management and CPR and First Aid.
- Current Driver’s License with favorable driving record required (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, no more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years, no DUIs in the last 5 years).
- Applicants must have a personal vehicle for client transportation and current auto insurance
- Knowledge of characteristics of mental illness and appropriate interventions, training strategies,
- Skills in support methods for persons with mental illness and functional limitations
- Ability to deliver structured skill-building interventions with consistency
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.03 - $27.90 per hour
