About Us:
Looking for a full-time receptionist for our Physical Therapy department in our Orthopedic Clinic. Duties include: confirm appointments, verify medical insurance benefits, collect co-pays, obtain insurance authorizations, etc. Previous experience in a medical office is preferred.
Rio Grande Valley Orthopedics is a high-volume, fast-paced orthopedic outpatient clinic dedicated to delivering exceptional musculoskeletal care to our community. We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused receptionist and insurance verification specialist to join our team at our clinic ad serve as the first point of contact for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism and warmth
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
- Answer and route incoming calls; respond to patient inquiries
- Collect co-pays, balances, and process payments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EMR system
- Coordinate patient flow between front desk and clinical team
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and filing
- Ensure the front office is clean, organized, and stocked with supplies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or medical office training preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare front office setting (orthopedic or specialty clinic experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of insurance verification and medical terminology
- Proficient with EMR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
