About the role
ZYLO Medical Transport is growing its student transportation program for the 2026–2027 school year, starting late August. We're looking for dependable independent contractor drivers to run consistent routes in the Allentown, Reading, and Boyertown areas — getting students to and from school safely, every school day.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not employment. You'll use your own vehicle and set your own route schedule around the required morning and afternoon runs.

What you'll need
- A clean driving record (MVR required)
- Ability to pass Pennsylvania school-level background clearances, including a PA State Police criminal record check, an FBI fingerprint check, a child abuse clearance, and mandated-reporter training
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- A valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Your own clean car, SUV, or wheelchair accessible vehicle in good working order
- Comfortable using a smartphone app for route management
- Ability to make 2 runs a day — a morning route and an afternoon route
- Dependability — a commitment to working the route for the full school year
- Patience working with school-age children
About the background check
Because this role involves transporting students, Pennsylvania requires more than a standard background check. You'll need to complete several school-level clearances, which we'll walk you through step by step. These clearance and screening costs are reimbursed after your first 20 completed trips.
