Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Forklift and Crane Operator to join our construction and logistics team for a new commercial project we are about to start in the heart of CA, The duration of the project is estimated between 17 -22 months. In this vital role, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, boom trucks, backhoes, and excavators, to facilitate materials handling, loading, unloading, and site setup. Your expertise will ensure efficient workflow on construction site and warehouse environments, contributing to safe and timely project completion.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, boom trucks, backhoes, excavators, and other heavy machinery to move materials across construction sites or warehouse facilities
- Rigging materials securely for lifting operations using cranes or rigging equipment
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities by loading and unloading trucks efficiently and accurately
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before use to ensure safety standards are met and perform basic maintenance as needed
- Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to plan lifting sequences and material placements
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes (including boom trucks), backhoes, excavators, and other construction machinery
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues on heavy equipment
- Valid certifications for forklift operation; crane operator certification preferred such as NCCCO and NCCER certified heavy Crane Operator .
- Experience with rigging techniques for lifting heavy loads safely
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures in construction or warehouse settings
- Commercial driving license with experience in transportation of materials (CDL Truck driver)
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety standards and operational protocols
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy loads and working in outdoor environments for extended periods
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes within industrial or construction contexts
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
