About Your Role
The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities by dispatching drivers, monitoring compliance, and serving as a primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery execution. This role ensures accurate order creation, timely dispatch, and delivery confirmation while supporting driver performance and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Assist with other duties as assigned.
Load Dispatch & Daily Operations

Dispatch loads to commercial drivers and manage daily route execution

Coordinate schedules to meet customer delivery requirements

Communicate proactively with drivers regarding assignments and changes
Driver Leadership & Operational Support
-
Coach and support drivers through regular engagement, required meetings, and targeted training focused on safety, compliance, performance, and customer service

Promote a positive, accountable team culture that supports retention and continuous improvement
-
Coordinate driver scheduling, equipment readiness, and maintenance needs to ensure operational continuity

Manage timekeeping, PTO tracking, and support performance monitoring through KPI reporting
DOT Compliance & Safety Support

Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD compliance for assigned drivers

Ensure adherence to DOT and company safety requirements
-
Assist with accident reporting, investigations, and documentation
Order Creation & System Accuracy

Create accurate delivery orders (DOs) in IFS
-
Ensure order details are complete and correct prior to dispatch

Receive and confirm delivery completion within the ERP system
Customer Communication & Service Execution

Confirm orders and delivery details with customers
-
Provide delivery status updates and resolve execution issues

Serve as a key point of contact during delivery operations

Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred

3–5 years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or logistics operations
-
Working knowledge of DOT regulations, HOS, and ELD requirements
-
Experience using ERP, TMS, or dispatch systems
-
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Outstanding Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record MVR.
Working Conditions
-
The work environment is the typical office and plant environment. The employee must complete their work satisfactorily in an environment where there are significant distractions, including staff, clients, and vendors walking through and conversing, telephones ringing, conversations carrying over, loud noises, and interruptions to answer questions from others. This position may be exposed to chemicals, extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, and wind.
