Job Description
Lakes Dermatology, P.A. has an opening for a full-time Rooming Assistant/Medical Scribe to work alongside our award-winning physicians at our Burnsville/St. Louis Park clinics.
We offer a great work-life balance with no weekends, no on-call, and no night shifts.
Duties
- Accurately document patient encounters in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in real-time during medical examinations and procedures
- Proficient computer knowledge with the ability to learn the electronic record system
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories, vital signs, and medication lists
- Assisting the physician with lasers, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Blood draws
- Wound care and suture removals
- Support clinical procedures
- Stocking/prepping rooms
- Assist with regular clinical duties
- Patient phone calls, triage, prior authorizations
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and typing skills
- Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate with a passion for excellence in healthcare
- Assisting reception staff with duties such as making copies or scanning documents when needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Degree/Diploma/Certificate (preferred)
- Prior experience in clinical settings is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding systems (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical documentation tools (preferred)
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in fast-paced environments
- Ability to work out of both of our St. Louis Park and Burnsville clinics

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
