We are looking for a highly organized, analytical, and relationship-driven Toyota Inventory Manager to oversee the acquisition, allocation, and management of our new vehicle inventory. This position plays a critical role in ensuring we have the right inventory at the right time to meet customer demand while maximizing dealership profitability.
The ideal candidate has dealership experience, understands Toyota allocation processes, and excels at building strong relationships with other dealerships to facilitate successful vehicle trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically order new vehicle inventory through Toyota's allocation systems based on market demand, sales trends, and inventory performance.
- Analyze sales data, inventory levels, and local market conditions to optimize vehicle mix and inventory turn rates.
- Monitor incoming inventory and identify opportunities to improve availability through dealer trades.
- Negotiate and execute dealer trades with regional Toyota dealerships to acquire high-demand vehicles and maintain a balanced inventory.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Inventory Managers and General Sales Managers at neighboring Toyota dealerships.
- Accurately process and report all sold vehicles (RDR) in accordance with Toyota corporate guidelines and dealership standards.
- Track incoming vehicle shipments, monitor freight status, and communicate estimated arrival dates (ETAs) to the sales team.
- Coordinate with sales management and lot personnel to ensure vehicles are properly merchandised and aged inventory receives appropriate attention.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with manufacturer reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with dealership leadership to support inventory planning, sales objectives, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive dealership experience required.
- Toyota dealership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Toyota Dealer Daily and vehicle allocation processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS).
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills with the ability to manage inventory performance and turn rates.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and compliance.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently.
