What You'll Do
As an RN at MPEC, you'll provide skilled nursing care to medically fragile children in a pediatric day health setting while helping them learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient monitoring
- Administer medications, treatments, and tube feedings
- Provide care for children with complex medical needs, including tracheostomies, ventilators, feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, and other specialized equipment
- Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Supervise and mentor Direct Care Workers
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
- Foster a safe, compassionate, and engaging environment where every child can reach their fullest potential
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Mississippi Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred (PPEC, PDN, pediatric home health, hospital, PICU, NICU, pediatrics, or school nursing)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Ability to successfully pass a Mississippi criminal background check
- Ability to complete a TB skin test (or other tuberculosis screening as required) prior to employment
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment in accordance with MPEC policy
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, families, and fellow team members
- Ability to meet the physical demands of pediatric nursing, including lifting, transferring, and assisting pediatric patients safely
