Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and customer service, with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for our patrons. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, maintaining cleanliness in the café, and ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Operate the POS system efficiently for order processing and cash handling.
- Engage with customers to provide recommendations and take orders accurately.
- Assist in food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; report shortages as needed.
- Perform basic math calculations for inventory management and sales tracking.
Uphold café cleanliness by regularly cleaning equipment, tables, and seating areas.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous experience in a café or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is a plus.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
- Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Understanding of food safety practices related to food preparation and handling.
