American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience at a tertiary Level 1 trauma teaching hospital for a night shift travel assignment in Portland, ME.

Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a large tertiary, academic Level 1 trauma center
-
Cover the entire facility as part of a team of 14–16 RRTs across adult acute, adult critical care, pediatric acute, PICU, NICU, and ED settings
-
Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care
-
Ventilators used include Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, and Trilogy line, as well as Airvo and Vapotherm
-
EMR: Epic
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
On-call requirement: 2-hour call requirement for the oncoming shift
-
Floating required across adult, pediatric, NICU/PICU, and ED areas; may float between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed

26-week contract

RRT credential required
-
Minimum 2–3 years of respiratory therapy experience required

Experience in a tertiary academic teaching hospital with Level 1 trauma designation required

Experience in adult acute care, adult critical care, pediatric acute care, PICU, NICU, and ED required
-
BLS required; ACLS preferred; NRP required for NICU coverage
-
Preferred: NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience

Driver's license required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

License required if applicable

Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple care settings including adult critical care, pediatric, NICU, and emergency department

Scrubs are provided or flexible attire is acceptable

Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different bill rate

Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions

Personal electronic devices including AirPods, laptops, and cell phones are not permitted on the unit
