Job Summary
The Cook plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals that contribute to the health and well-being of residents. This position is responsible for food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Prior experience in assisted living or healthcare settings is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist with the cleaning and organization of the kitchen, food storage areas, and equipment.
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed throughout the shift.
- Record food temperatures and ensure all meals meet proper food safety guidelines.
- Assist with menu planning in collaboration with leadership and dietary needs of residents.
- Conduct grocery shopping as needed to support meal preparation.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook or in a related food service role
- Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to follow recipes and adhere to food production standards
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lift, carry, and move food items or supplies as needed
- Prior experience in an assisted living or healthcare setting is preferred
- Compassionate and dependable with a focus on serving the needs of residents
