Position Summary
The Farm Operations Team Member is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our farming and grain enterprise. This position works closely with the Head Farmer to complete seasonal fieldwork, irrigation, grain handling, equipment maintenance, harvest operations, and livestock support while maintaining a safe, efficient, and professional work environment.
This is a hands-on position that offers a variety of responsibilities throughout the year, making it ideal for someone who enjoys diverse work and the changing seasons of production agriculture.
What You'll Do
Field Operations
- Perform fall and spring tillage operations
- Apply liquid fertilizer
- Operate tractors, tillage equipment, combines, grain carts, and other farm machinery
- Assist with harvest operations
- Assist with manure application
Irrigation
- Operate irrigation systems
- Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and winterization of irrigation equipment
Grain Operations
- Transfer corn from outdoor storage piles into grain bins
- Prepare corn bunkers for harvest
- Assist with grain handling and storage activities
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery and equipment
- Keep equipment clean, serviced, and operating efficiently
- Maintain clean, organized shops, facilities, and work areas
- Help maintain the appearance of farm facilities and grounds
Livestock & Feedyard Support
- Assist with winter grazing operations, including checking livestock water systems, fence repairs, and moving cattle
- Support the feedyard during time-sensitive operations, including:
- Snow removal
- Blowing bunks
- Assisting with major equipment breakdowns
- Fall water heater tank maintenance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Farmer
Safety & Teamwork
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Help create a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of T&E Cattle Company
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in farming, agriculture, grain production, or cattle operations
- Experience operating agricultural equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform equipment maintenance
- Experience with irrigation systems is a plus
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and equipment safely
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work in confined spaces when necessary
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work extended hours during planting, harvest, irrigation season, and other peak agricultural periods
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Hours will vary seasonally, with additional hours expected during planting, irrigation, harvest, and other peak agricultural seasons.
