We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Derrick Hayes, a West Philadelphia native, started Big Dave's Cheesesteaks in 2014 in Dunwoody, Georgia. The original location was in a 700-square-foot gas station. Hayes was inspired to bring his West Philly roots to Atlanta after moving there and not being able to find a traditional cheesesteak. He named the restaurant after his late father, who inspired his passion for entrepreneurship. The restaurant grew out of the gas station location and into its own store after lines for cheesesteaks reached up to 200 people.
