Job Overview
As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to patients in various healthcare settings. Your dedication will help ensure that individuals receive the highest quality of care, whether in a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility. You will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient comfort and promote well-being.
What you’ll do
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring accurate medical documentation for ongoing patient assessments.
- Support patients with mobility needs, including the safe use of Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Provide basic care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other developmental disabilities.
- Adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
- Engage with patients through meaningful interactions that promote emotional well-being.
Skills
- Proven experience in acute care settings, including hospitals and long-term care facilities.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring.
- Experience in specialized areas such as hospice care, pediatrics, geriatrics, or behavioral health is highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassionate caregiving skills that demonstrate empathy and respect for diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of emergency protocols and basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred.
