Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology practice in Vascular Lab on a part-time basis. Hours will be every Tuesday with additional hours as needed.
The Nurse of the Vascular Lab will be responsible for all nursing duties in the operating room and recovery room. These duties will be rotated from time to time or as the schedule dictates.
In the operating room the Nurse will; review the patient's chart and pertinent information. He/she will perform an initial assessment upon patient entry into the OR. He/she will assess trended patient data during the procedure. Assess effects of given medications and document all necessary elements / devices used throughout the procedure. He/She will complete all necessary documentation as it relates to devices uses, patient vitals, medicines provided, etc.
In the recovery area the Nurse will be responsible for all pre and post patient care. These duties include evaluation of the pre and post-operative patient plans as directed by physician, documents nursing care, assesses patient for pain and maintains hemodynamic stability, neurological stability and pain management. Recovery nurse will keep the patients and physician informed of recovery progress until discharged. Discharge will be discussed with the patient, their family and physician before patient is finally discharged.
Requirements:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or Compact License
- Three to five years experience in a vascular lab, Cath Lab and/or Cardiac Critical Care Unit as a Cath or critical care nurse.
Skills:
- Ability to perform duties of a Licensed Registered Nurse / Scrub Nurse in the OR
- Knowledge of an EKG/Rhythm strip interpretation.
- Skilled in operating job-related medical equipment
- Knowledge of radiation safety.
- Ability to assess and reorder supplies for OR.
- Completion of all necessary paperwork for OR, patient procedure and lab.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
