Throop Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Assistant Principal to support the leadership, supervision, and daily operations of the school. The Assistant Principal will work collaboratively with the principal, teachers, staff, students, and families to promote a positive school culture, ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, and advance academic excellence. This position plays an integral role in fostering student success, supporting instructional improvement, and maintaining effective school operations.

Assist the principal in providing instructional leadership and supporting school improvement initiatives.

Promote a positive school climate that emphasizes student achievement, safety, and character development.

Enforce the student code of conduct and implement restorative and progressive discipline practices.

Supervise student arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other school activities as assigned.

Provide or designate supervision for after-school programs and extracurricular activities.

Conduct educator observations and provide meaningful feedback to support professional growth.

Assist with curriculum implementation, instructional coaching, and the analysis of student achievement data.

Participate in special education conferences, Section 504 meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings as appropriate.

Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.

Coordinate school safety procedures and assist with emergency preparedness planning.

Serve as the acting administrator in the absence of the building principal.

Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or superintendent.

Master's Degree required.

Possess or be eligible to obtain an Indiana Building Level Administrator License.

Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience.

Elementary administrative experience preferred, but not required.

Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
