Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support.
Duties
- Provide direct support to clients in daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation, ensuring their safety while driving them to appointments or social activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including any changes in the client’s condition or behavior.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and any concerns that arise.
- Support clients with memory care techniques to enhance cognitive function and promote engagement in meaningful activities.
- Adhere to medical terminology standards while providing care and maintaining confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred, especially in working with individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and ability to follow care plans accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach towards clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for transportation duties.
- Employees provide services in a 24/7/365 environment, including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, with weekend shifts scheduled on a rotating basis.
