Job Title: Cook
Department: Food Services
Job Summary:
This position will be preparing and cooking food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience for our customers. They help keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently. They ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and following food storage procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
Cook food with various utensils or grillers
Check food while cooking to stir or turn
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check the quality of ingredients
Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Education and Experience:
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds at times
Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands as necessary
Ability to hear and see, to position and safety requirement levels
Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
