Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate addiction severity, mental health status, and co-occurring disorders using diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
- Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to support clients experiencing acute emotional or behavioral distress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical staff, and family members to coordinate care plans and ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, patient records, and notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Conduct research and data collection to monitor treatment outcomes and improve clinical practices; utilize CPT coding for billing purposes when applicable.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities such as behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and behavioral health principles.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and motivation for change.
- Experience in child & family counseling, home & community care, hospital settings, or PTSD care enhances your ability to serve diverse populations.
- Expertise in crisis intervention, crisis management, case management, and social work practices ensures effective support during critical moments.
- Familiarity with medical records management, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical terminology, and HIPAA compliance guarantees accurate documentation and confidentiality.
- Ability to perform patient assessment, intake procedures, diagnostic evaluation, and addiction counseling within a clinical setting.
