Seneca Valley Swim Club is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and athlete‑centered Assistant Coach to join our growing USA Swimming program. SVSC is a non‑profit, year‑round competitive swim club with 100+ athletes across six training groups, and an integrated Learn to Swim Lesson program. Compensation to align with experience.
Position Overview
This part‑time coaching role requires 4–6 days per week (approximately 2–3 hours/day) plus weekend meets each month.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to design and implement seasonal and year‑round training plans.
- Lead and manage a training group with an emphasis on proper technique, skill development, and progression.
- Create an engaging, supportive, and motivating environment that helps swimmers reach their full potential.
- Teach and reinforce life skills including discipline, confidence, sportsmanship, and goal setting.
- Prepare meet entries, assign events, and ensure swimmers are properly registered for competitions.
- Coach at meets approximately 1–2 weekends per month.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior coaching experience within a competitive swimming program.
- Strong understanding of stroke technique, training principles, and race strategy.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Experience with TeamUnify preferred.
Certifications
- Current USA Swimming Coach Membership (or ability to obtain promptly).
- ASCA Level 2 or higher preferred.
