Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the success of commercial construction projects from initial estimate to project completion. Duties
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive project estimates by analyzing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using estimating software BuilderTrend, Docusketch, Archsite, HOVR, Roofr.
- Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details, material requirements, and scope of work for commercial projects.
- Develop detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and other project expenses while ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Utilize construction management software and Bluebeam for project documentation, tracking changes, and collaborating with team members effectively.
- Lead the bidding process by soliciting competitive quotes, analyzing proposals, and preparing detailed pricing packages aligned with project budgets.
- Oversee project budgets by estimating construction costs accurately, monitoring expenses during execution, and implementing cost-saving measures as needed.
- Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements, provide updates on estimates or project status, and address any concerns promptly.
- Review construction schedules and ensure timely procurement of materials by estimating material requirements from blueprints and managing delivery timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of all estimating activities, change orders, contracts, and correspondence for transparency and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Excellent skills in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans accurately.
- Demonstrated ability in cost management including material cost estimating, cost control strategies, and budgeting for large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets for estimating data analysis) and construction management software tools.
- Effective negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing with subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining quality standards.
- Solid understanding of contracts related to construction projects including scope of work modifications and change order processes.
- Construction site experience is preferred to better understand on-the-ground realities impacting estimates.
- Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and clear documentation of estimates and project updates.

SALARY + PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
