Responsible for performing all of the human resources functions at the professional level requiring a thorough knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, as well as applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, and the exercise of discretion and tact in processing documents and information of a confidential or sensitive nature in a variety of program areas including recruitment and selection, Team Member relations and benefits administration. Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to hiring and interviewing staff, compensation reviews, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Will oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
- Will assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations and team off-boardings.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conduct recruitment activities to include job fairs, applications, interviews, etc.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation, employee recognition programs, and employee engagement events.
- Administer internal job advancement policies & procedures.
- Assist employees with benefit & payroll questions and other issues.
- Administer policies and procedures and serves as a resource for questions and guidance.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Assist in the Corrective Action process with the Department and also conduct termination meetings as required.
- Inform management of open issues that need resolution.
- Conduct investigations, including Team Member complaints.
- Maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive matters.
- Maintain accurate files and records according to established procedures.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Offer suggestions for improvement regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintain daily reports to include daily management of manning details.

- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, ethical practices, procedures, regulations, or laws.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
