Overview
We are looking for a reliable Route Driver to pick up raw materials from partner locations across Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas for our specimen processing and manufacturing operation. You will operate company trucks and vans, pull a trailer when needed, and handle loading and unloading, including heavy lifting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, pays attention to safety and cleanliness, and takes pride in representing the company professionally at customer sites.
Duties
- Safely operate company trucks, vans, and trailers on assigned routes in NE/IA/KS.
- Load and unload materials, using pallet jacks, liftgates, and other equipment when needed.
- Secure all loads properly and confirm quantities and paperwork at each stop.
- Perform basic pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and report any vehicle or equipment issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate route records, including pickup logs, receipts, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate with the office regarding route progress, delays, or issues at pickup locations.
- Follow all traffic laws, DOT/company safety rules, and cleaning/sanitation protocols for vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks when not on the road (staging loads, organizing inventory, basic cleaning).
- Represent the company in a professional, courteous manner with all suppliers and partners.
Experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Prior experience as a delivery, route, or courier driver is preferred.
- Proven experience safely driving with a trailer is highly desired.
- Comfortable with heavy lifting, repetitive movement, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle inspections and commercial driving best practices.
- Basic comfort with smartphones or tablets for route navigation and logging.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, loading docks, or inventory handling is a plus.
What we offer
- Stable, year‑round work with predictable routes.
- Company‑provided vehicles, equipment, and required PPE.
- Per diem for overnight routes and paid drive/working time only during overnights.
- Small, tight‑knit team where your work directly supports education and research through our specimen products.
If you are a safe, dependable driver who enjoys regional routes and wants to be home most nights while still occasionally staying out on the road, we’d love to talk with you.
