TRC has partnered with one of the largest battery recycling companies in the United States. Looking to hire a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team!
Overview
The Project & Continuous Improvement Engineer leads capital projects and drives continuous improvement initiatives across a manufacturing operation. This role focuses on improving safety, quality, productivity, equipment reliability, and cost performance through engineering solutions and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage facility, equipment, and process improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process optimization efforts.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and operating costs.
- Support environmental, health, and safety compliance programs.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and external contractors.
- Train and support employees on process improvements, standard work, and best practices.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project updates for leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
- Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Preferred
- 1-5 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, process controls, or maintenance management systems.
- AutoCAD or similar design software experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or process-control systems.
- Work Environment
- Combination of office and manufacturing environments.
- Regular exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and production processes.
- Use of required PPE.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
