About the role
CTS Mobility, a Verizon Elite Partner for 20+ years, is expanding our Government & Public Sector sales team and is looking for a proven Government & Strategic Accounts Manager with experience selling connected technology solutions to federal, state, and/or local government agencies. If you’ve spent years navigating government procurement processes, contract vehicles, and public sector budget cycles, and want the autonomy to build a high-impact territory, this role was built for you.

Job Summary
CTS is seeking highly experienced candidates. The Government & Strategic Accounts Manager (GSAM) will work closely with the CTS Mobility team, our partners, and government clients to develop new agency relationships, secure new public sector accounts, and build a strategy to generate sales across a wide portfolio of connected technology products and services. The GSAM will lead overall territory strategy and develop new sales opportunities with federal, state, and local government agencies, working in a team environment with Verizon Elite Partners and managing the full sales process from acquisition through service delivery. The GSAM will coordinate pre-sales support and ongoing customer success to ensure an exceptional agency experience. This position requires 50% travel and must be located within 50 miles of a top 30 metro area airport. This is a remote position reporting to the Vice President of Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and grow Government & Public Sector accounts across Federal, State, Local Government, and Education (SLED-E) agencies, selling Fixed Wireless, 5G routers, mobility, and connectivity solutions
- Engage agency CIOs, IT directors, contracting officers, and procurement teams with consultative, solution-based selling
- Work inbound leads and proactively develop new government business through Verizon’s public sector programs and channel partners
- Leverage CTS Mobility’s government-focused offerings to recommend the right solution
- Manage full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, solution design, close, and expansion
- Partner with engineering, carrier ops, and leadership to win complex deals
- Drive sales of Mobile Technology Solutions (Fixed Wireless/Wireless Business Internet/Routers, Tablets, Smartphones, IoT, & Accessories) and Mobility Lifecycle Management Services to Federal, State, and Local Government agencies, leveraging applicable contract vehicles (e.g., GSA, NASPO, cooperative purchasing agreements).
- Acquire new clients through prospecting, funnel management, and relationship development across a large geographic footprint.
- Develop business strategy, manage sales forecasts, and deliver consistent results against assigned targets.
- Develop relationships to generate new government sales opportunities through the Verizon Elite/Co-Sell Program and public sector channel partnerships.
- Experience working for an IT reseller or VAR preferred.
- Experience selling Fixed Wireless Access Solutions, Mobility Solutions (Tablets, Smartphones, Routers, etc.), and MDM / EMM solutions preferred.
- Assess customer mobility needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Introduce CTS capabilities to Verizon government sales offices and partner with Verizon public sector sales leadership to collaborate and co-sell to federal, state, and local agency end-users.
- Determine product availability and pricing from distributor and manufacturer partners and generate quotes.
- Maintain a professional business rapport with government customers, Verizon public sector reps, and agency stakeholders.
- Represent the company by attending trade shows, government and industry conferences, and organizing partner team events and meetings to build relationships and pipelines.
- Generate estimates and enter customer details in ConnectWise/HubSpot CRM.
- Consistently communicate with current clients to maintain high levels of client engagement and help ensure long-term success.
Key Skills and Background:
Experience and Education:
- 5+ years of government or public sector technology sales experience (Government, Federal, or SLED accounts)
- Proven track record selling technology solutions to federal civilian agencies, DoD/defense contractors, or SLED (state, local, education) clients
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes, contract vehicles (GSA, SEWP, NASPO, cooperative purchasing), and agency budget cycles
- Experience selling wireless, FWA, routers, mobility, or IoT solutions to government accounts
- Self-starter mindset—comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to develop strong vendor/client relationships.
- Leadership in running a large geographical territory, which requires travel for client meetings
- Work involves extensive personal contact and frequent communication with others.
- Must have the ability to work well independently in a high-growth environment where priorities may change quickly based on shifting business needs.
- Must be self-motivated and able to determine appropriate, specific activities and tasks based on high-level objectives.
- Must be highly organized with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to forecast and do full management.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
