Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist licensed physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care in Home Care. Experience in acute care, geriatrics, and orthopedics is a plus . This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology, as well as the ability to implement treatment plans effectively.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment protocols, exercises, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients leaving therapy.
Skills
- Proficient in Homecare therapy practices and techniques.
- Experience or knowledge in acute care, and geriatrics is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
- Knowledge of physiology and its application in rehabilitation settings.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and support throughout the rehabilitation process.
Job Types: Contract, Per diem, PRN
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
