Holographic Production Technician

Role Overview
The Holographic Production Technician is a hands-on manufacturing position responsible for performing specialized production processes used in the creation of holographic printing materials.
This is an entry-level position, and training will be provided. Previous holography or laboratory experience is not required.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys detailed, hands-on production work, is comfortable working with equipment and materials, and can consistently follow established processes and procedures. The work is performed in a production/workroom environment rather than a traditional scientific or medical laboratory setting.
The technician will work with glass holographic masters, chemical solutions, electroforming equipment, nickel plating processes, and finished metal shims used in high-speed printing operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Master Preparation: Clean, degrease, inspect, and prepare glass holographic masters for production.
- Silvering: Apply a conductive silver coating to prepared holographic masters using established procedures.
- Electroforming: Operate and monitor nickel electroforming equipment, including tank temperature, pH, filtration, and plating times.
- Shim Finishing: Separate completed nickel shims from glass masters and perform trimming, cleaning, inspection, and finishing.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect masters, shims, and materials for cleanliness, defects, damage, and overall quality.
- Equipment & Work Area Maintenance: Clean and maintain plating tanks, tools, equipment, and work surfaces.
- Chemical & Material Handling: Safely handle production chemicals, nickel materials, cleaning solutions, and related materials.
- Production Documentation: Record measurements, plating times, process conditions, and other required production information.
- Follow established production procedures, quality standards, work instructions, and safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures and perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and production timing.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn production equipment and processes.
- Good manual dexterity and ability to safely handle delicate or precision materials.
- Ability to work independently, maintain quality standards, and demonstrate dependable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, printing, finishing, warehouse, mechanical, or other hands-on work environments.
- Experience with plating, chemical processing, or similar production processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with Step and Repeat (S&R) processes, mechanical or digital, is helpful but not required.

- Ability to identify small defects, inconsistencies, or changes in materials.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
- Ability to maintain an organized work area and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and work at production equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to perform close visual inspections and identify small surface defects under specialized lighting.
- Ability to handle fragile glass materials and use hand tools for detailed trimming and finishing work.
- Ability to reach over and work around production tanks and equipment and perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move materials or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment
This position works primarily in a specialized manufacturing and production workroom.
The employee may work around chemical solutions, nickel plating tanks, production equipment, glass materials, metal components, and cleaning agents. Appropriate personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed when working with chemicals, equipment, and production materials.
The position requires both detailed individual work and collaboration with other members of the production team.
