Position: USPS Delivery Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking dependable, customer-focused Delivery Drivers to safely and efficiently transport and deliver USPS mail to residential and commercial customers. The ideal candidates are expected to have strong time management skills, a clean driving record, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently while representing the company in a professional manner at all times.
This is an independent contractor (1099) position with the opportunity for a dedicated route and on-demand route with NO Benefits including Workers Compensation.
4 Wheel or All wheel SUV's, minivans, or cars preferred!
Key Responsibilities
- Pick up, transport, and deliver USPS mail according to assigned routes and schedules
- Load and unload mail safely and accurately to prevent damage.
- Verify package information before delivery.
- Complete assigned delivery routes efficiently and on time
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
- Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle cleanliness and basic operational condition
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times
- Maintain accurate route planning tools
- Maintain customer and company confidentiality at all times
- Communicate with dispatch regarding any delays, route changes, or delivery issues.
Driver Qualifications
- Previous USPS delivery, courier, or driving experience preferred
- Be willing to convert vehicle to right hand drive for better route efficiency
- Valid driver's license with proof of insurance
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Reliable clean insured vehicle appropriate for deliveries
- Smartphone with reliable data service
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet delivery deadlines
- Dependable, punctual with good attendance
- Be able to speak, write and understand English
Physical Requirements Drivers Must be able to:
- Lift and carry packages up to 50-75 pounds
- Bend, kneel, squat, and reach frequently
- Enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the day
- Walk up and down stairs if needed
- Drive, Stand and walk for extended periods
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Work may include exposure to: Heat, Cold, Snow, Rain, Heavy Traffic or Construction Zone
