Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder/Fabricator/Shop Foreman to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and assembling metal structures and components in compliance with project specifications and safety standards. The Welder will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and strength of various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and welding symbols to determine specifications and project requirements.
- Weld structural components and assemblies using various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Fabricate and assemble structural steel and metal components for equipment used in the oil & gas services industry.
- Perform welding tasks in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) and environments (indoors, outdoors, confined spaces).
- Inspect welded joints and structures for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, tools, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, fabricators, and construction workers, to ensure project completion.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on welding equipment and tools.
- Document work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the welding process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in welding is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Welder or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and welding symbols.
- Strong knowledge of welding safety procedures and practices.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks involving heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to high heat, flames, and welding fumes.
- Requires wearing protective gear such as gloves, masks, and safety glasses.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
