Housing and Tenancy Coordinator:

Position Summary:
The Housing and Tenancy Coordinator: plays a vital role in helping individuals with IDD identify, obtain, and maintain appropriate housing within the community. This position ensures that all services provided align with the Housing Transition and Tenancy Sustaining Services (HTTSS): guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs (ODP): .
The coordinator works directly with individuals, families, landlords, and support teams to promote housing stability, independence, and inclusion—while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and programmatic requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Housing Transition Services:
- Develop individualized housing support plans: tailored to each person’s needs, preferences, and resources.
- Educate individuals about housing rights and responsibilities: , including lease agreements, tenant obligations, and fair housing laws.
- Support individuals in identifying appropriate housing options and completing housing applications.
- Coordinate with landlords, housing authorities, real estate agents, and community agencies: to secure suitable housing placements.
- Assist with move-in logistics: , including the purchase of household items, setting up utilities, and arranging transportation as needed.
2. Tenancy Sustaining Services:
- Help individuals build and maintain positive relationships: with landlords and property managers.
- Provide ongoing education on tenant rights, responsibilities, and communication strategies: to support stable housing.
- Assist with problem-solving and conflict resolution: , addressing issues such as lease violations, disputes, or maintenance concerns.
- Offer budgeting and financial planning assistance: to promote long-term tenancy stability.
- Collaborate with the individual’s broader support network: —including family members, Supports Coordinators, and service providers—to ensure coordinated and holistic housing support.
3. Collaboration and Documentation:
- Participate in Individual Support Plan (ISP): meetings and team discussions when requested.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation: in accordance with ODP and organizational requirements.
- Coordinate effectively with Supports Coordinators, families, and housing stakeholders to ensure services are integrated and compliant with ODP waiver guidelines: .

Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services: or a related field; equivalent experience may be accepted per ODP standards.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience: supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD): .
- Familiarity with HUD programs: , local housing authorities: , and fair housing regulations: .
- Strong skills in organization, communication, and interpersonal engagement: .
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple cases and priorities.
