Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties across various areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Handle chemical agents safely while cleaning surfaces, floors, restrooms, and common areas in accordance with safety protocols.
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to ensure high-quality floor care and buffing results.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs or reporting maintenance issues promptly to ensure operational efficiency.
- Follow proper manual handling procedures during cleaning activities to prevent injury and ensure safety.
- Support additional duties such as industrial cleaning or residential painting when required to meet facility needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with a strong understanding of commercial or industrial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with chemical agent handling, safety procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Prior experience with facilities maintenance or porter duties is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques for various surfaces and environments including floors, restrooms, and common areas.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
