Litigation Associate Attorney (0–3 Years) – Full-Time – Remote
About the Role
The firm is looking for a full-time California-licensed litigation attorney to join our civil litigation defense practice. This is a strong opportunity for a newly licensed or early-career lawyer to build hands-on litigation experience — including general liability defense — working closely with and mentored by senior litigators on all phases of a case. Prior civil litigation experience is welcome. Insurance defense experience is a plus but not required. The position is fully remote.
The firm is headquartered in Orange County, California, with additional offices in Northern California and Nevada. With roughly two dozen attorneys and staff firmwide, we combine the collaborative feel of a close-knit practice with the resources and reach of a multi-office firm. Our civil litigation department is currently growing, creating strong opportunities for attorneys to take on meaningful casework. The firm’s civil litigation department represents a variety of businesses such as hotels and grocery stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Propound and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production and requests for admission
- Assist with and, as experience grows, take and defend depositions
- Draft pleadings, motions and briefs under the guidance of senior litigators
- Prepare for and attend hearings
- Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Support an active caseload alongside lead attorneys, with growing ownership over time
Required Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in California (required)
- 0–3 years of civil litigation experience
- Insurance defense experience is a plus, not required
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Eager to take initiative and grow into ownership of case tasks with mentorship and support from senior attorneys
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
