American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Work setting is a hospital Med/Surg Tele unit
-
Patient population includes acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
-
Patient diagnoses include acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general surgery, post-op GYN surgery, post-op total knee and hip replacements, orthopedics, acute and chronic pain, active GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetes (hyper/hypoglycemia), renal failure, drug overdose, CIWA score below 7, suicidal ideation, arrhythmia, radioactive therapy, uncontrolled or new onset seizures, and stable COVID

IV medication drips administered on this unit include Heparin and TNA

Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Every other weekend rotation required

Holiday coverage required as needed

Floating between all health system facilities is required for all travelers

Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Active NC or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Med/Surg Tele and Telemetry experience required

Epic EMR experience required
-
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
