Responsibilities Skills You’ll Need:
Experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical trade, laying out work, and organizing jobs.. Demonstratable experience interpreting pertinent electrical codes (NEC, NESC, and MSHA). Experience in the mining industry is preferred.
Equipment Operation - Proficiency in operating large equipment, including understanding the
controls, gauges, and indicators.
Ability to manipulate equipment accurately and smoothly for various tasks.
Skill in handling attachments and understanding their applications.
Safety Awareness - Ability to recognize, understand, and adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workplace; proactive in identifying potential hazards, taking steps to mitigate risks, and ensuring that both personal and collective safety are maintained in all tasks and environments.
Planning and Scheduling - Effective planning of repair procedures, scheduling work
considering resource availability, and maintaining necessary inventory. Problem Solving - identify, analyze, and resolve work-related issues efficiently and effectively using practical knowledge, experience, and hands-on skills. This involves identifying the problem, diagnosing the cause, finding practical solutions, implementing fixes, and adapting to unexpected challenges. Teamwork and Collaboration - Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with others to achieve common goals; contributes positively to group efforts, sharing knowledge, and being open to others' ideas and feedback. Adaptability - Adapts to new conditions, is flexible and open-minded when facing challenges, and maintains high performance during change.
Leadership Skills- Acts decisively and supports all aspects of the company to work together to
accomplish objectives, vision, mission, and values of Vulcan. Trusts and allows people to do their job, holding them accountable for the full extent of their responsibilities.
Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items; stand, sit, and walk for
long periods of time.
Must have the ability to drive a pick-up truck, repair truck or fork truck on a daily basis.
Knowledge in use of phone systems, cell phones and other electronic devices is essential.
Local travel as well as a periodic need to travel by airline. Must have the ability to use computerized equipment and technology.
Ability to work in a very stressful, deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical
Information and decision making.
Must be able to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Test electrical equipment, Electrical PPE, Electrician’s hand tools and motorized vehicles
Flexibility. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
