Position Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA or NYCPS) to join our team at RevCore Recovery Center and provide services at the Mariner's Residence in Staten Island. As a CRPA / NYCPS, you will work directly with clients in various stages of recovery, offering peer support, guidance, and encouragement. The ideal candidate would have experience working with older adults, and experience with dementia or cognitive decline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Peer Support: Provide individual peer support to clients in recovery, sharing your lived experience and utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients through their recovery process.
- Recovery Coaching: Help clients set and achieve recovery goals, provide encouragement, and assist in overcoming barriers to recovery, including navigating the healthcare system and accessing resources.
- Advocate for Clients: Help clients access community resources, including housing, employment, and legal support, and assist with referrals to other healthcare or social service providers as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, including progress notes and case coordination. Ensure compliance with confidentiality and other applicable regulations.
- Crisis Support: Provide immediate support during times of crisis, de-escalating situations and offering practical strategies for maintaining recovery.
Qualifications:
Required 1 of the following:
- CRPA certification
- NYCPS certificate
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate others.
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in recovery.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
