Plant Technician - Multiple positions and shifts

We are seeking motivated Plant Technicians to support the safe and efficient operation of a continuous-process manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for monitoring equipment, collecting product samples, performing basic maintenance, and assisting with material handling and transfer activities.
Our facility operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including scheduled holidays. Candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts and support continuous operations.
Hours: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am, 2-2-3 schedule
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control plant processes using field equipment and computerized control systems (PLC).
- Adjust operating parameters and process setpoints as directed.
- Safely start up and shut down plant systems and equipment.
- Monitor process performance and respond to changing operating conditions.
- Conduct routine inspections, area rounds, and equipment checks.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to maintain efficient operations.
- Verify equipment and process readiness prior to startup and shutdown procedures.
- Collect and document process and product samples according to established procedures.
- Connect hoses, clear lines, and perform material transfer activities.
- Load and unload tank trucks and railcars.
- Support bulk material receiving, storage, and shipping operations.
Maintenance & Facility Support
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and routine equipment care.
- Change oils, filters, water, and other operating fluids as required.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Move materials, tools, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Clean up minor spills and assist with containment area maintenance.
- Perform general facility upkeep, including snow removal, salting, and grounds maintenance as needed.
Safety & Teamwork
- Follow all company safety, environmental, and operating procedures.
- Participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs and initiatives.
- Report incidents, hazards, and injuries promptly.
- Complete required safety and job-specific training.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Assist with training and mentoring new employees as experience is gained.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safe work practices at all times.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Mechanical aptitude is needed
Preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, maintenance, agriculture, construction, warehousing, logistics, or military environments is a plus, but not required.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoor work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Regular outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hard hat, safety footwear, gloves, and additional task-specific PPE as needed.
