Overview
Dream Care Rides is hiring two Lift Assist Attendants to serve the residents of Cicero. It’s steady, daytime, Monday-through-Friday work helping elderly and mobility-limited neighbors get to their medical appointments and back home safely — in partnership with the Cicero Fire Department.
If you’ve worked in caregiving, transportation, or any hands-on job where showing up and treating people well matters, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. Newer to this kind of work? If you’re reliable, strong enough to help lift, and good with people, we’ll train you.
Experience preferred — but we’ll train the right person. If you’ve done caregiving, transport, or hands-on work with people, great. If not but you’re dependable, strong enough to help lift, kind to older folks, and have a clean driving record — we provide paid training and your CPR certification.
WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE
You and your crew partner start your day at the Cicero base. When a request comes in, you drive out to a resident’s home, help them safely down their stairs and out to a waiting vehicle using a stair chair, and make sure they’re settled. Later, you bring them back inside when they return from their appointment.
You’re not doing medical work — no emergencies, no falls, no patient care. You’re the friendly, steady hands that help someone get where they need to go with dignity. Most days are a handful of scheduled trips with downtime in between. You’re always home by evening, and you never work weekends or holidays.
WHAT YOU GET
✓ $150 a day, paid weekly. Above what most driving and caregiving jobs around here pay.
✓ A real Monday–Friday, 8–5 schedule. No nights. No weekends. No holidays. Plan your life.
✓ Paid training + CPR certification. We train you on lift technique, our equipment, and the routine — and cover your CPR cert.
✓ Workers’ compensation coverage. You’re covered if you’re hurt on the job.
✓ Vehicle, equipment, and uniform provided. We supply the van, the stair chair and lift gear, and your uniform.
✓ Quarterly bonuses for great attendance and resident feedback.
✓ Meaningful, local work. You’ll serve the same community every day and get to know the people in it.
WHAT YOU BRING
✓ A valid Illinois driver’s license and a clean driving record (you and your partner both drive).
✓ Your own smartphone — you’ll use it for our dispatch app and to reach the crew.
✓ You’re at least 21 (our insurance requires it).
✓ The physical ability to help lift and carry an adult — 150+ lbs as part of a two-person team — including up and down stairs.
✓ You can pass a background check and a drug screen (both required).
✓ You’re dependable, patient, and respectful — especially with older people.
