Director of Auxiliary Programming
Position Overview
The Director of Auxiliary Programming is a part-time, year-round leadership position responsible for the planning, coordination, and daily operation of the church’s programs, Preschool's auxiliary programs, After Care, afterschool enrichment clubs, and summer camp. Our goal is this role will turn into a full time position. This role ensures that all auxiliary and childcare offerings are safe, well-staffed, engaging, and aligned with the mission and values of the organization’s community while providing instructional and operational support across campus.
Schedule
- Sunday Mornings: 7:30am - 11:30 am
- Academic Year: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. M-Th, 8:00pm on Wednesdays with additional opportunities
- Summer: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m- subject to change
Primary ResponsibilitiesChurch Programming & Childcare
- Coordinate and oversee childcare for church programs and special events.
- Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise childcare staff to ensure appropriate coverage and compliance with all child safety policies.
- Collaborate with church staff to understand childcare needs for upcoming events and develop staffing plans accordingly.
- Church staff requesting childcare are expected to provide at least six weeks to one month's advance notice whenever possible to allow for appropriate staffing and preparation.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment for children participating in church childcare.
- Assist in developing procedures and systems that ensure consistent, high-quality childcare experiences across all church programming.
- Support occasional evening and weekend programming as needed.
Extended Day Programs (Academic Year)
- Oversee the daily operation of the Extended Day program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and well-supervised environment for students.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise Extended Day staff.
- Develop and manage afterschool enrichment clubs and programming.
- Establish and maintain consistent procedures, behavior expectations, and communication with families.
- Monitor enrollment, attendance, and program quality to ensure a positive experience for students and families.
- Lead planning for programs, including curriculum themes, schedules, staffing models, and enrollment systems.
- Collaborate with organization leadership to assess community needs and grow auxiliary offerings.
- Support marketing and enrollment efforts for auxiliary programs in partnership with the admissions and communications teams.
Summer Camp & Vacation Programming
- Serve as the primary leader for the June-end of August school-aged summer camp program, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and daily operations
- Develop engaging, developmentally appropriate programming that reflects the organization’s mission and community values.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable licensing, health, and safety requirements.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with the administrative team to ensure alignment between auxiliary programs and the Preschool’s educational philosophy and culture.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding auxiliary programming.
- Maintain a visible, positive presence in the community.
Qualifications
- Experience in youth programming, extended day, summer camp, or school-based auxiliary programs preferred.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and staff supervision skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate programs for children.
- Flexibility to meet the scheduling needs of a year-round church community.
Physical & Professional Requirements
- Ability to be active and engaged with children throughout the day.
- Ability to lift, bend, and move as needed in the environment.
- Must meet all background check and training requirements for working with children.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
