About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Dispatcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently coordinating, monitoring, and scheduling transportation services while maintaining effective communication with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal departments.
Available Shifts
Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:
- Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Evening/Night Shift: 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Work schedules and days may vary depending on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize transportation services to optimize routes and delivery efficiency.
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
- Use transportation management systems to track shipments and maintain accurate, up-to-date information.
- Monitor routes, schedules, loads, and shipment status throughout the transportation process.
- Identify transportation or delivery issues and provide timely solutions.
- Communicate load information, instructions, schedule changes, and updates to drivers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by handling questions, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Support fleet operations by coordinating vehicle maintenance, repairs, and equipment availability.
- Work closely with customers and all company departments to ensure accurate shipment processing.
- Maintain detailed records of communications, transportation activities, incidents, and shipment updates.
- Assist with emergency situations, delays, breakdowns, or other operational issues.
- Perform additional dispatching and logistics duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics coordination, or a related position.
- Strong understanding of transportation scheduling, shipment tracking, and route optimization.
- Experience using dispatch or transportation management software.
- Experience with ALVYS is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Experience providing high-quality customer service.
- Familiarity with fleet management and vehicle maintenance processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with email and office software.
- Availability to work the assigned day or evening/night shift.
