Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selections, including conducting product demos when needed
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract customers and promote featured products
- Stock shelves regularly, ensuring products are properly rotated and inventory levels are maintained
- Upsell relevant products by informing customers about new arrivals, specials, or complementary items
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about store hours, product availability, or promotions
- Support inventory management through stock counting, replenishment, and recording product movements
- Ensure compliance with all legal age restrictions and responsible alcohol sales protocols
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or liquor stores
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
- Experience supervising or leading team members is advantageous but not required
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product demos is beneficial
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations and cash register operations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
