Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items during checkout to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain organized checkout areas, stock registers, and ensure product displays are neat and inviting
- Provide product demos when applicable, sharing features and benefits to encourage sales
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and assisting with inventory management
Requirements
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and calculating totals or discounts
- Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures essential for smooth operations
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone professionally
