Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Non-Sterile Compounding Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations, patient service, and medication preparation within a clinical or hospital setting. This role involves preparing non-sterile compounded medications with precision, adhering to safety protocols, and providing exceptional patient care. The technician will support pharmacy operations in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate medication dispensing and excellent patient service.
Duties
- Prepare non-sterile compounded medications following established formulas and protocols
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and safety standards during compounding processes
- Assist with medication intake, verification, and documentation to ensure accuracy
- Support patient care by providing medication information and addressing patient inquiries
- Maintain accurate records of compounded medications and inventory management
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely medication delivery for critical care and acute care patients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the compounding area in accordance with regulatory standards
Requirements
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a non-sterile compounding setting.
- Critical care experience and familiarity with capsules, ointments, and creams is highly required
- Strong understanding of acute care pharmacy operations and patient care procedures
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Certification or licensing as a pharmacy technician is mandatory
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality standards
