Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our dedicated healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages, utilizing advanced clinical evaluation techniques.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations, and manage treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory specimen collection to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Cerner for documentation, order entry, and care coordination.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication administration, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to foster long-term health improvements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across specialties such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, behavioral health, geriatrics, and critical care to optimize patient outcomes.
- Engage in telehealth consultations and triage services to extend accessible care beyond traditional clinical settings.
Qualifications
- Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from an accredited program. 2+ years of experience
- Demonstrated experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or urgent care centers.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
- Able to see 20+ patients per day, in a primary care clinic type of setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10), and drug enforcement regulations (DEA).
- Experience performing procedures like suturing, spinal taps, catheterization, dermal fillers or esthetic laser treatments is desirable.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on acute pain management and chronic disease control; familiarity with hospice & palliative medicine is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating exceptional communication skills and cultural competence.
