Full-Time Exempt - Reports to the Board of Directors
Lead One of West Virginia's Premier Mountain Communities! The Alpine Lake Property Owners Association is seeking an experienced executive leader to serve as its next General Manager. Alpine Lake is a private, four-season mountain community located in the mountains of north-central West Virginia. The Association serves approximately 1,000 property owners and operates a diverse portfolio of amenities and services, including: An 18-hole championship golf course, a hotel, restaurant and event facilities, recreation amenities, security services, roads and infrastructure, common grounds and facilities, a full-service homeowners association. This position serves as the chief executive responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Association under the direction of the Board of Directors.
Position Summary
The General Manager provides executive leadership for the Association by implementing Board policy, leading the management team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring exceptional service to property owners and guests. Working through department managers and supervisors, the General Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Association while maintaining strong relationships with the Board of Directors, employees, property owners, vendors, and the surrounding community.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide executive leadership for all Association operations. Lead and develop the management team. Oversee the Business Office, Facilities, Golf Operations, Hospitality, Security, and other Association departments. Provide executive oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, human resources, employee benefits, insurance administration, purchasing, contracts, and core business systems. Develop annual operating and capital budgets. Implement Board policies and strategic initiatives. Advise the Board regarding operational, financial, and strategic matters. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, governing documents, and Association policies. Foster a positive customer service culture for property owners and guests. Build collaborative relationships with employees, committees, contractors, and community stakeholders.
QualificationsRequired
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of four years of progressively responsible management experience. At least two years leading multiple departments or complex operations. Experience preparing and managing budgets. Experience supervising employees and conducting performance management. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with governing boards or elected officials. PreferredHOA, resort, hospitality, municipal, or club management experience. Community Association Manager (CAM), CMCA, AMS, or PCAM designation. Experience with financial management systems, accounting software, and operational management software. Knowledge of golf, hospitality, recreation, or property management operations.
